MESA Club students, Tony Snowden, Amanda Hill, Aida Villarreal-Licona, Marchus Lewis, Nate Sidles, Yesenida Navarrette, Jazmin Dagnino, Meaghan Sweet and Dennis Bell are our featured artists. They have used their artistic talents to create award winning scientific projects which earned them 2nd place overall at the Arizona State MESA Day competition. Their art is functional as well as aesthetically pleasing. The award ceremonies loaded them up with 1st place medals for the rollercoaster entry, 2nd place medals for the bottle rocket and solar water still entries and third place for the toothpick tower. These students have demonstrated that they are acquiring the skills needed to be successful in the 21st century: creativity, problem-solving, teamwork and communication. Utterback is proud to congratulate these artist/scientists as well as their advisor, Diane St. Amand.
